I find it odd Bryant park would have an overall higher rating, but after reading the reviews for this gym, I realized a lot has changed since they were written. In my journey around Equinox NYC, this was gym number 2 (the first being Bryant park). Could have been broken or someone might not have turned it up. The day I went the sauna was not hot, just warm. The clubs that offer Iyengar: 63rd (1 class), Flatiron (1 class), 67/Columbus (5 or 6 classes), W 85th (1 class), W 92nd (3 classes), Columbus Circle (2 classes), Greenwich Ave (3 classes).īut I liked it and it's kind of cool to feel the energy/vibe of Rock Center.Īlso there are chaise lounges (two) outside steam and sauna. I travel to different clubs for this so I don't have to spend money at the Institute (W 22nd). Pressure in the showers excellent.Ĭoat check and lockers that lock (so annoying when there aren't locks). Also the showers are really private, individual stalls. The steam room was not hot enough for me but it was clean and large. I had an hour or so to kill so just went to steam (been injured) and shower before dinner and event in Chelsea. I like this location, though I did not work out. This has only one floor, while other locations have several (so less machines overall). A comfy lounge area with access to their 2 Apple desktops. Decent amount of equipment (several different types of foam rollers, exercise sliders, etc). They have a punching bag with gloves (if you're into that). This is one of the most important thing to me at a gym. I do think all their gyms should have wet and dry. Wet and dry sauna (most of the Equinox gyms have the wet sauna but this has both). Also, it's $30 a month if you're going to freeze it, which is kinda stupid because we obviously don't pay enough for the membership lol. ![]() ![]() Make sure you get proof, emails, receipts, whatever, cause they'll play the "you never asked for a freeze" game. The worst thing about Equinox is that they act like they never froze a membership before so good luck going on vacation. The thing I probably like most about Equinox is their cleanliness the maintenance workers clean nonstop and also that you don't have to bring anything to the gym except for sneakers and work out clothes (you can even buy some at their shop!) Locks, Hair ties, razors, mouthwash, face moisturizers, body lotion, blow dryers, shower caps, Lola tampons/pads, eucalyptus towels- you got it all right here. All Equinox location have Kiehl's products (body wash, hair shampoo/conditioner, cleanser). This is one of my favorite locations since the bathrooms are much bigger than other locations- there's pretty stones in the showers and marble decorated tables. Obviously Equinox is a luxury gym, I pay $240/month for access to all NY Equinox with an exception to the Printing House location and others.
